Cenit Commences Drill Program at the Coppercorp Project
Cenit Corporation (CNT: TSXV) commenced a drill program at the Coppercorp Project in July 2011 to test the B Zone and the depth extension of the past-producing Coppercorp Mine C Zone. The Phase 1 drill program consists of 14 drill holes totalling an estimated 1,200 metres of drilling. To date, 12 of the 14 drill holes have been completed and assays are pending. The Coppercorp Project is located approximately 85 kilometres northwest of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
Coppercorp Historic Data Compilation and Review
Historic data has been collected, digitized, 3D modeled and is in the process of being interpreted. Historical data includes relevant data from past geological mapping, drilling, mining and various airborne and ground geophysical surveys.
Coppercorp Surface Program
The surface sampling and mapping program at the Coppercorp Project is ongoing. A total of 95 rock chip, grab and channel samples were collected and assayed from the north end extension of the original Coppercorp Mine, the B Zone and north and west step-outs from the B Zone.
Coppercorp Surface Program Results to date include:
- The North Extension had grab samples including 18.7% and 51.6% Cu and a channel sample returned a weighted average grade of 2.17% Cu over 2 metres.
- Sampling of the B Zone returned a weighted average grade of 4.94% Cu across 3 metres over an 8 metre strike length of exposed vein at the north end of the zone, and 2.84% Cu across 3 metres over a 17 metre strike length of discontinuously exposed vein at the south end of the zone. There is no material mineralization outside of the 3 metres sampled.
- The North B Zone step-out had grab samples assaying as high as 15.8% Cu.
A total of 50 rock chip and grab samples have been collected from the Kincaid Breccia area located at the north end of the Coppercorp Project claim block. Assays are pending.
The technical information on the Coppercorp Project has been reviewed and approved by Delio Tortosa, P. Geol. who is a “Qualified Person” under National Instrument 43-101 and a consultant to Cenit.
Adjacent Claims Acquired
An additional 60 claim units covering approximately 10 square kilometres have been staked at the Coppercorp Project; including:
- additional claims at the north side of the project adjacent to the Kincaid Breccia
- additional claims at the south extension of the past-producing Coppercorp mine
Cenit and its joint venture partner First Minerals Exploration Ltd. now retain approximately 60 square kilometres of contiguous claims at the Coppercorp Project.
